Retreat set for SRBA men
The Southside Rappahan-nock Baptist Association (SRBA) Men’s Ministry will hold its 14th annual retreat on Saturday, June 7, starting at 8:30 a.m. with a light breakfast at Union Shiloh Baptist Church in Laneview, and close at 1:15 p.m. following lunch.
Rev. Keith Parham, pastor of First Baptist Church of Hockley in Shacklefords, will be the retreat leader.
Rev. Parham is a native of Petersburg and he completed his early education in the public schools there. He continued undergraduate work at Virginia State University and received his BA degree in political science in 1975. He was licensed to preach in 1974 and served under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Grady Powell Sr. at Gillfield Baptist Church in Petersburg. He was ordained at Gillfield Church on November 16, 1975. In 1978, he received his masters of divinity degree from Virginia Union University. In addition, Rev. Parham is board certified with the College of Pastoral Supervision and Psychotherapy as a certified chaplain. Pastor Parham has pastored at several churches and has served at First Baptist for over 30 years. He and his wife, the former Annette Relaford, reside in King and Queen County.
The retreat will be hosted by SRBA Men’s Ministry President Clinton Beale and the men of Union Shiloh where Rev. Frederick Young is pastor.
All men from the SRBA member churches are welcome.
