Raffle raises $2,230 for Habitat
At 5 p.m. on November 7, Kim Cailles, a friend of Habitat for Humanity, drew two raffle tickets from the big red barrel at the Habitat booth at the Urbanna Oyster Festival. The tickets were for a 1982 Cadillac that was donated by Robert Miller of Hartfield, and two nights with breakfast at the Double Tree Hotel, 301 West Franklin, Richmond.
The Cadillac was won by Robert Dennis of Lawrenceville. The Double Tree Hotel stay was won by Stephen Shrivel of Richmond.
Tickets were sold at Wings & Wheels, the Holly Point Art & Seafood Festival and at the Oyster Festival. The Habitat booth at these events were manned by volunteers Carol Walsh, Chuck Walsh, Lisa Thomas, Morgan Thomas, Sandy Woolard, Kristee Norwood, Maddie Norwood, Marry Kiku, Phillip Terry, William Terry, Juanita Pryor, Sherwood Banks and Hiroko Predmore.
Thanks to the efforts of these volunteers, and the many supporters who purchased tickets, a total of $2,230 was added to Habitat’s building account for our next house.
Additional donations may be sent to HFH Middlesex, P.O. Box 492, Hartfield, VA 23071.
