The Grafton Baptist Church Youth and Family Retreat will host its Prevention Day on Saturday, June 6, at Camp Piankatank in Hartfield.

This day will be filled with fun and entertainment for ages 4 and up. The topic will be “Team Jesus. “ Our workshop developers are Sister Mae Burke, Sister Hope Burke and Deacon Stanley Gresham.

Registration will be from 8:30 to 9 a.m. and the event will be over at 6 p.m.  All are invited to participate.  There will be a $5 charge per person.

“Please bring an open mind, bag to keep up with your belongings, Bible, bug spray, and sunscreen, swimsuit, and towel,” said an event spokesperson.

This project is sponsored by friends, families, Grafton Baptist Church and The Rural Virginia United Coalition, and is fiscally managed by the Middle Peninsula-Northern Neck Community Services Board. This prevention program is funded through a federal grant from the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) and Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).

The Grafton Youth and Family Day will continue at the 11 a.m. service on Sunday, June 7, at the church with a guest speaker, Minister Reynold Trotman Jr. All are invited to attend.
