‘Praise in the Temple’ worship and anniversary celebration due Saturday

Laymetha Reed Guy and ‘The Sounds of Rapture’

Laymetha Reed Guy and “The Sounds of Rapture,” in association with the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Senior Choir, will present a “Praise in the Temple” worship and anniversary celebration on Saturday, October 26, at St. Clare Walker Middle School on Route 33 in Locust Hill.

Doors open at 3 p.m. and the program starts at 4 p.m. The public is invited and there is no admission fee.

Musical performances will be by Stellar Award winner Phillip Carter and the “Sound of Victory Choir” from Fort Washington, Md.; Stellar Award nominee and Hoodie (Neighborhood Award Winner) gospel vocalist Earl Bynum and “As We Are” from Chesapeake; Stellar Award nominee and teen gospel sensation Nyasia from Richmond; the Shiloh Baptist Church Praise Dance Team from Burgess; the “New Hope Singers” from King and Queen County; Sister Karen Barber from Petersburg; “The Soldiers of Vision” from Richmond; and The Union Grove Mass Choir from Petersburg.

This program will be hosted by Lady Katherine South of Second Mt. Olive Baptist Church and Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Church View. 

In addition, the guest host announcers will be Lady Rosa Turner and Brother Randy Johnson from the Virginia Gospel Announcers Guild of Richmond.

All choir members in attendance (regardless of the church they attend) are asked to wear pink ribbons in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month or red ribbons in support of cancer awareness.

Vendors will be onsite and refreshments will be available.
