One Community Under God rescheduled for October 7

The ‘One Community Under God’ worship service has been rescheduled for Sunday, October 7, at 3 p.m. on the back lawn of the Middlesex Volunteer Fire Department in Urbanna.

“A special invitation is offered to the members of county volunteer first-responder units and the sheriff’s office to join us,” said an event spokesperson.

The entire community is invited for worship under a tent with supper to follow in the firehouse. Please bring a lawn chair for the outdoor service.

Initially for this third year of joint worship and fellowship, eight churches came together to plan for this time of devotion, respect, music and fellowship. The group was joined by another church within the last two weeks. The nine county churches that are partners in hosting One Community Under God are Antioch Baptist, Calvary Baptist, Christ Church Parish, Lebanon/Greater Grace Baptist, Mt. Zion, Remlik Wesleyan, Urbanna Baptist and Urbanna United Methodist churches.

Again, the spokesperson encourages you “to arrive early and bring a lawn chair for the sunny day of worshipping God together! In case of rain, the service will be held inside the firehouse building.”
Feel free to contact Pat Wake at 804-445-5553 or Eileen Smith at 758-4371 for more information.
