Missions study program due Sunday at Hermitage Baptist

Lloyd and Connie Rodgers, former missionaries to Venezuela and Columbia, will be guest speakers at Hermitage Baptist Church at Church View on Sunday, December 7.

Mr. and Mrs. Rodgers were appointed as career missionaries with the International Mission Board (IMB) in 1989. They served in Venezuela as church planters and seminary instructors.

In 2001 they transferred to Cali, Columbia, to help begin a School of Missions at Columbia Baptist Theological Seminary.

In 2006 they returned to Virginia to serve on the home office staff of the IMB.

Mr. Rodgers is the director of the Centre for Excellence in Leadership (ICEL), based at the International Learning Center in Rockville. ICEL provides continuing education for missionary personnel worldwide.

Mrs. Rodgers serves in a support role for international missions as a consultant to the IMB’s Department of Hispanic Mobilization, connecting Baptist Latino congregations with missions opportunities overseas.

They have two adult daughters, Katie and Anna.

There will be classes for all ages at this missions study.

The service begins at 4:15 p.m. and will end at 6:45 p.m., with a break for a covered-dish meal about 5:15 p.m.
