LUMC plans summer activities for all ages

Lower United Methodist Church Summer Outreach Program in Hartfield is planning a “Summer Road Trip” and “Lifetree Cafe.”

“We are looking forward to five fun Sundays for children and youth beginning July 8 and continuing through August 5,” said a church spokesperson. “Come for breakfast at 8:30 a.m., and then from 9 to 10:30 a.m. there will be Bible study, crafts and games.”

Program topics include: “Slimed,” God specializes in messy situations; “Emoji Prayers,” using emoji faces to remind us that we can talk to God about anything; “Wet and Wild,” Jesus makes a difference in our lives when we dive in with Him (wear your bathing suits to church); “Mission Mania,” hands on faith . . . changing lives in our community and beyond; and “Science With Jesus,” kids will participate in or watch some fun experiments that remind them of some of the amazing miracles Jesus did.

“Join us each Sunday in the Sunday school classrooms and be sure to bring your friends!” said the spokesperson.

Lifetree Cafe is a weekly, hour-long experience that features real people’s stories on film, guided conversation, Biblical insights, and time to build relationships.

Lifetree Cafe tackles the topics that most people deal with . . . topics about the big (and little) stuff that shapes our lives—family, friends, fears, busyness, balance, money, materialism, health, heaven, peace, purpose.

“Lifetree Cafe is a place where rich conversation is served up every week,” said the spokesperson. “At Lifetree Cafe you’re encouraged to share your own stories and listen to others. But if you don’t feel like talking, that’s okay too. You’re welcome just as you are.”

Join us in the Fellowship Hall for breakfast at 8:30 a.m. and then from 9 to 10:15 a.m. stay for Lifetree Cafe on Sunday mornings beginning July 8 and continuing through August 5.
