Lower UM Church to honor veterans Sunday
On Sunday, May 30, a special combined worship service will be held at 10 a.m. at Lower United Methodist Church in Hartfield to honor veterans who have served our nation in time of war and peace. There will be a time for remembering those vets who are no longer living.
The service will include special music by the church choir and a color guard, including a bugler and bagpiper playing taps and “Amazing Grace.” Chaplain W.A. Will, a retired navy chaplain, will be the guest speaker.
The service is open to the public and current serving members of the armed services are invited to attend in uniform.
Veterans also are welcome to wear their uniform or their medals and insignia from their branch of service.
