Lower Church to begin new Bible study Monday

A few weeks ago, Rev. Joe Klotz invited the congregation of Lower United Methodist Church to “tarry with God” by participating in a Bible study. A new study will begin on Monday, Jan. 26, from 2 to 3 p.m. and Tuesday, Jan. 27, from 7 to 9 p.m. for the introductory session to “An Invitation to the New Testament.”

Participants may pay for their study guide at that time; $8 in cash or a check payable to Lower UMC. “Invitation” is an eight-week journey with five daily preparation lessons that take about 30 to 45 minutes of Bible readings and reflective questions to ponder.

This study will be using the Gospel of Matthew as a starting point and will examine how the New Testament writers and the early Christian community wrestled with the implications of the story of Jesus for their lives and their communities of faith.

All are invited to join Rev. Joe and Ann Klotz along with Carolyn Schott in this “fresh” study of this story of Jesus to learn more about what it means to be in the community of Jesus’ followers today.

To register or receive more information, please call Schott at 776-6004 or email .
