Literary Union to meet Sunday; plans dinner-play

The Middlesex County Literary Union (MCLU) will meet Sunday, September 29, at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Harmony Village where Rev. Woodland Holmes is the pastor. The MCLU Youth Choir will provide the music. The Adult Sunday School lesson is titled “The Proud Brought Low.” The background scripture will be from Genesis 11:1-9. All churches are asked to bring $30 worth of school supplies to Sunday’s service.

The MCLU will present a dinner and a play on Sunday, October 6, at Piankatank Camp & Conference Center in Hartfield at 4 p.m.

Middlesex native Ervin “EJ” Blake has written and will direct the powerful play titled “Circumstances of Life.” This play will be performed by MCLU members and Middlesex natives. The ticket cost is $10. All churches will receive 10 to 15 tickets and money is to be collected and turned in at the session. The dress attire is Sunday dress.
