Legion Post 82 to feature ‘burial benefits’ talk
At 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, January 14, American Legion Post 82 in Saluda will have a free open house to all veterans and their families.
A special guest speaker will be there to talk about “veterans burial benefits.” Some of his topics will be National Veterans Cemetery and Virginia Veterans Cemetery acceptance; different types of internments at these cemeteries; levels of honors; and different levels of burial benefits. A question-and-answer session will be held at the conclusion of the presentation to answer any questions one might have concerning your specific situation.
“We all know this is not an exciting topic but it is one that with the proper planning can be made a little easier on your loved ones when the time should come,” said Post 82 Commander Keith L. McAuley.
Post 82 will provide limited refreshments.
