July 28 concert to benefit Reggie Carter Reward Fund

Reggie Carter

On Saturday July 28, at 5 p.m. a concert will be held at Lebanon Baptist Church in Saluda. This musical program will consist of various choirs, men choruses, and soloists from Richmond, Williamsburg, Gloucester, Middlesex and many of the other surrounding counties. This concert is free to everyone and is a community unity event.

Dr. Teresa Sutherlin is hosting the event to raise money to increase the reward money for the Reggie Carter Fund. Carter has been missing for about two months. The goal is to increase the present fund to $10,000. “We are asking any choir or musical groups interested in participating to please come out,” said Dr. Sutherlin. Call Dr. Sutherlin at 804-833-1619 to register for the concert in advance.

Anyone who desires to make a donation should send it to Lebanon Baptist Church, P.O. Box 404, Saluda, VA 23149. Please make all checks payable to the Reggie Carter Fund. There is also a fund set up at Sonabank in Middlesex.

Dr. Sutherlin commented, “We as a community must make it clear that Middlesex will not tolerate this kind of crime in our community. Today it is my nephew missing but tomorrow it could be your family member. I am convinced that someone knows what happened to Reggie. It is our prayer that they will come forward and share that information. We will give the reward to that person and will keep their name confidential. Reggie is well loved by his family and our hearts are broken. We as a family are hurting and we need closure to this terrible tragedy! We will not give up until we find out what happened to Reggie. We will not stop until he is returned to his family!”
