Holy Land visit described as ‘a spiritual education’

Woodland Scott, a 1963 St. Clare Walker High School graduate, and George Miller, a 1973 Middlesex High School graduate, traveled March 18-26 to the Holy Land in Israel as members of Rev. Russell Smith’s tour group.

Major cities visited were Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Bethlehem, Tiberius, Capernaum and others. The group also took a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee, were baptized in the Jordan River, and floated in the Dead Sea.

“The country is very diversified and fertile,” said Miller. “We saw snow cap mountains and mango and banana plantations from the country roads. This was truly a spiritual education. Jerusalem is the Holy City for Christians, Islam and Judaism and to take all this history in was just stunning and breath-taking.”

This was Pastor Smith’s third trip to Israel. Please visit to view some of the pictures and the trip schedule.
