Historic Christ Church Volunteer Fair is Feb. 27
The Volunteer Council of Historic Christ Church in Weems met recently to plan its annual Volunteer Opportunity Fair, which will be held Wednesday, February 27, from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m.
The fair is an opportunity to learn about the many ways one can volunteer at the church, which was built in 1735. More than 250 men and women currently volunteer their time and talents in areas of research, tours, gardening, education, and much more. Volunteers help at various special events, work with school groups, maintain the volunteer library, and maintain the costumes that docents wear for special occasions.
Anyone who is interested in becoming a volunteer or would like to learn more about the program is invited to come to the Volunteer Opportunity Fair. Refreshments will be served and current volunteers will be on hand to answer any questions guests might have.
For additional information regarding the fair, call Trish Geeson at the Historic Christ Church office at 438-6855.
