Hermitage’s food ministry to distribute food on April 26
In the fall of 2012, The RA Lads of Hermitage Baptist Church and Cub Scout Pack 314 teamed up to collect food for those in need in Middlesex County.
Pam Seay, leader of the RA Lads and Cub Scout Pack 314 Tiger Cubs said “The boys worked hard that day to collect all of the food, sort it, and pack it, and deliver it to needy families in Middlesex. Families were so grateful for the love shared with them.
“From that day forward the Lord set into motion what is now ‘Team Thanksgiving,’ a food ministry, headed by Jesus Christ, at Hermitage Baptist Church in Church View,” said Seay.
The team is led by Seay and Kate Carey and located at Hermitage Baptist Church. Seay and Carey decided to follow the calling set before them, and took on a huge ministry to prepare and deliver complete Thanksgiving meals throughout the county with the help of individuals who also had a desire and calling to reach out to those in need and feed those who most likely would not have had a Thanksgiving.
Recognizing the need for food, whether it be supplemental or for an emergency, Team Thanksgiving is now up and operating! Team Thanksgiving and Hermitage Baptist Church have a food pantry to include non-perishable food, and refrigerated and frozen foods. The Food Pantry is available to serve any time in emergency food situations by contacting Pam Seay at 654-9565, Kate Carey at 370-4281, or the Hermitage Church office at 758-2636.
Team Thanksgiving will begin its once a month food pantry distributions on Friday, April 26, at 6:30 p.m. at Hermitage Church. The monthly food pantry distribution is available to anyone in need— upon reservation. Those in need who would like to reserve food for pick up on April 26 should contact Seay, Carey or Hermitage Church no later than Monday, April 22.
