Health and resource fair planned at Immanuel BC
The Immanuel Baptist Church Health and Resource Fair will be Saturday, June 7, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the church. It is free to the public and all are welcome. Immanuel Baptist Church is on Town Bridge Road near Saluda.
At the fair, local fire departments will give away smoke detectors and offer fire extinguisher training.
Also represented at the fair will be the local rescue squads, Disabled American Veterans (DAV) officials, Hands Across Middlesex, YMCA, Middlesex Sheriff’s Office with its Ident-a-Kid program and information on synthetic drugs, Middlesex Health Department, Julie Dudley from the American Red Cross, Head Start, a dental program for children, voter registration, Bay Aging, Middlesex Public Library, NAACP, Lowe’s home safety information, counseling information, free blood pressure screenings, dental hygienist, nurse practitioner, social worker and massage therapist.
There also will be flyers and brochures from the American Cancer Society, National Eye Institute, American Heart Association, Glaucoma Foundation, American Dental Association, American Library Association, and National Autism Foundation.
Lowell Evans will be there with his new book “The Village,” which deals with epilepsy.
