Harmony Grove Chancel Choir prepares for cantata
On Sunday, December 16, during the 11 a.m. worship service, the Harmony Grove Baptist Church Chancel Choir will present the Christmas musical titled “On This Very Night” under the direction of Betty K. Kennon with Alyssa Owens, pianist.
Jamie Barnhardt will narrate the musical as the audience stands in the shoes of those who first heard the incredible news that Christ was coming. Nola Berlinghoff and Marcus Vaughan will have a solo/duet role in “Who Would Imagine a King?” while Evelyna Lawson will be a featured soloist in “Go Tell.”
Julie Horner, assistant choir director, will be featured in “Christmastime” along with the children of the church who will sing “Away in a Manger” while the chancel choir sings “Ring Those Bells.”
“We hope you will plan now to attend this wonderful Advent event as the choir blends traditional carols with fresh musical expression and thought-provoking narration,” said a program spokesperson.
