“Ms. Ellen,” as known by Hands volunteers and clients, has volunteered for over five years with Hands Across Middlesex. She takes pride in keeping the area clean and uncluttered. The clothes are clean, neat and sized.
Another dedicated Hands volunteer, Hallie Holmes, said, “Ellen is a phenomenal worker. She is meticulous with everything and she comes in most days of the week to work with donated clothing.”
Ms. Ellen stated, “The clothes closet could use some donated summer clothes, hats, shoes and pocketbooks.”
Once you have cleaned out your closets, remember all donations can be dropped off at The Cryer Center on Route 33 at Locust Hill for recycling.
Hands Across Middlesex hours are Monday-Thursday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., and Friday 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Clothing that is not given to clients will be sold at very discounted prices at the yard sales on the second and fourth Saturdays of each month. All proceeds benefit Hands and Habitat for Humanity.
“Ms. Ellen is a very hard worker, but she could use some help,” said Hands president Kyle Jenkins. “If you could donate about three hours a week, you would be a blessing to us.”
