Hands Across Middlesex
by Cathy Newcomb
What a delightful afternoon we had on Sunday, Feb. 15! We hope that everyone who attended the piano concert at Lower United Methodist Church in Hartfield had a wonderful time. Without counting heads, I would guess we had at least 150 people attending.
Thanks go to all the folks involved in arranging this good time. Special thanks go to Liz and Jim Barker, who are members of Lower Methodist and very good friends of the artist and her husband. We also need to be appreciative of all the LUMC members and Hands members who made arrangements for the program, reception and public awareness possible. Thank you.
Ellen Tenenbaum was fantastic! Her program included Mozart’s Sonata in F major, K.332 (allegro, adagio, allegro assai), and Schubert’s waltzes, Chopin’s Mazurka in A minor, Op. 68 no. 2, Scott Joplin’s Peacherine Rag, The Entertainer, The Maple Leaf Rag and Debussy’s Golliwogg Cakewalk. A good time was had by all.
On behalf of everyone at Hands Across Middlesex, we hope that you will stay warm on the cold days, enjoy the gifts of the unexpected warm days and look forward to spring.
