This past week has been a busy one for two Middlesex non-profit groups. First, Habitat for Humanity (HFH) Middlesex was issued a building permit for its next house, which will be a home for the John and Charlotte Dandy family of six boys. Lot clearing and construction will begin soon.
This excitement was followed by Hands Across Middlesex and HFH Middlesex with their first-ever joint yard sale on May 8 at The Cryer Center near Locust Hill. The event was very well attended, offering a wide variety of furniture, antiques, appliances, power tools, building supplies and electronics.
Similar yard sales will be held the second Saturday of each month at The Cryer Center from 8 a.m. to noon. Hands and HFH will be glad to accept your gently-used donated items for sale next month. All appliances, tools and electronics must be in working condition. Just drop them off at The Cryer Center Monday through Friday between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. and ask for a receipt at the front desk.
In addition to donated items, funds for ongoing projects continue to be critical items. Cash donations may be mailed to Hands Across Middlesex, P.O. Box 85, Locust Hill, VA 23092; or Habitat for Humanity, P.O. Box 492, Hartfield VA 23071.
