God’s Trombones

The Promise Academy of Virginia, in association with Shiloh Baptist Church of Reedville and James Pettis Productions, presented the musical play “God’s Trombones” at St. Clare Walker Middle School last Saturday. Laymetha Reed Guy, president and founder of The Promise Academy of Virginia, and Linwood Guy, co-founder of the Promise Academy, thanked the supporters of the event. The Guys said, “We whole-heartedly express our deepest gratitude to all cast members and crew, Rev. Alvin L. Hill Jr., Prophetess Marilyn Carter, Rev. Woodland Holmes, Dr. Griselda Bayton, Rev. Paul Pleasants, Elder Janel Pleasant, Apostle Carroll Carter, Rev. Tyrone Young, Minister Uthia Hicks Harris, Rev. Anthony Nutt, Rev. Fred D. Holmes Jr., Dr. Barbara Cain, Rev. Frederick Young, Dr. W.T. Carter, Rev. Calvin Rideau, Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Beverley, the St. Clare Walker staff, and the Middlesex County School Board for their participation in making the stage production God’s Trombones an overwhelming success.
