Glebe Landing offers free lunch and thrift shop

The mission of the Lodge Ministry at Glebe Landing Baptist Church in Laneview includes feeding and clothing the needy.

On the last Saturday of every month from 11:30-1 p.m. the church offers a free lunch served to the community in the church parish hall. Everyone is welcome. Lunches can be delivered to needy persons or shut-ins who cannot get to the church. Call the church (758-2233) for this service.

“We are happy to help anyone from anywhere, anytime,” said a church spokesperson.

There is a thrift shop in the old lodge building next to the church that accepts donations of furniture, clothing, food, appliances, books, china, cookware and boats.

The lodge donations can be left anytime; the sanctuary doors are always open in the vestibule. Receipts are provided for those who want them for their tax records. If there are donations to be picked up, call the church.
