Fundraiser planned for heart transplant candidate
The community is invited to attend a music and worship extravaganza starting at 7 p.m. Sunday, September 6, sponsored by Zoar Baptist Church in Deltaville.
A love offering will be received to assist Missy Morris, a heart transplant candidate. Missy is on the “A list” of Fairfax INOVA Hospital in Northern Virginia and Zoar members want to provide the family with gift cards for gasoline and food expenses.
Many churches from lower Middlesex County are participating in the Sept. 6 service. Here are some of the groups already on the program: Zoar’s praise band “Joyful Noise”; Susan Thomas (Lower Methodist) and Robert Sparrow (Church of the Nazarene) along with Randy Crittenden and Phillip White of Zoar; a Zoar gospel quartet consisting of Walter Harrow, Garland Harrow, Greg Harrow and Shannon Gimbert; Bobby Hipple from First Baptist Harmony Village; George Robinson from First Baptist Amburg; a group from Clarksbury Methodist; a saxophone solo by Emily Bailey accompanied by Andrea Linnell; and the Zoar Choir.
If a church group would like to be included, call the Zoar church office at 776-9502.
There also will be a Classic Car Show on Saturday, Sept. 5, at Zoar from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. where people will have an opportunity to make a donation.
