First Mount Olive plans homecoming, revival

The annual homecoming at First Mount Olive Baptist Church in Newtown will be held Sunday, August 10, at 11 a.m. Rev. James Thomas Hill, pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church in St. Stephens Church, will deliver the message. He will also conduct a Holy Communion service during the morning worship.

Following the morning service, dinner will be provided in the fellowship hall as well as outside in the pavilion.

On Sunday afternoon, starting at 3 p.m. there will be a special “songs of praise” service featuring Sister Cora Harvey Armstrong and the Full Deliverance Choir.

The summer revival is Monday through Friday evening. Each evening, prayer and praise will start at 7 p.m. and the regular service will begin shortly after 7:30 p.m. The following pastors have been confirmed for the week:

  • Monday, August 11, Rev. Robert D. Brown, pastor of New Mount Zion Church, Walkerton and St. Paul Church, King William.
  • Tuesday, August 12, Rev. Frederick Young, pastor of Union Shiloh Church, Laneview.
  • Wednesday, August 13, Rev. Wilbert Talley, pastor of Third Union Church, Walkerton.
  • Thursday, August 14, Rev. Jarred Beasley, pastor of Jerusalem Church, Sparta.
  • Friday, August 15, Rev. Dr. Carla Lightfoot, pastor of Angel Visit Church, Center Cross.
