‘Faith-based health care’ to be discussed at UUFR
On Sunday, October 6, at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the Rappahannock (UUFR), Rev. Alane Cameron Miles will speak on “The Dangerous Hope of Faith Based Health Care.”
Rev. Miles will examine the hope and dangers of faith-based care and the rebirth of the ancient volunteer health care movement. “Medicine for centuries has been shaped by a dynamic tension between science and faith. Some of the largest health-care systems and some of the smallest clinics in America are faith based,” Miles said.
The UUFR meets every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at 366 James Wharf Road in White Stone. All are welcome. Coffee and conversation will follow.
