‘Cuba’ to be discussed at Philippi
“What is your image of Cuba?,” writes Tricia Lloyd-Sidle, the author of next week’s “Thoughtful Christian” discussion at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 21, at 7 p.m. at Philippi Christian Church in Deltaville.
“A forbidden island paradise?
Cigars and rum?
Fidel Castro?
A decaying Communist stronghold?
To what extent is that image shaped by reality and to what extent by myth and propaganda?” asks Lloyd-Sidle.
“Understanding Cuba” examines the history of this large, beautiful Caribbean island and the people who inhabit it, including Christians.
A light supper will be served.
