‘Coping in bleak times’ is service topic

Sara Mackey will explore the spiritual practice of hope for the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the Rappahannock (UUFR) on Sunday, Jan. 18, at 10:30 a.m. at the church in White Stone.

In these difficult times when the outlook for the immediate future seems bleak, how do people of faith maintain hope? And, perhaps more importantly, why do we maintain hope?

Mackey lives in Richmond where she is a member of the UU Community Church of Glen Allen. She has served the Williamsburg UU as director of faith development for several years. She graduated from Union Theological Seminary with a master of divinity. She has been offering Sunday services as a guest of UUFR since her seminary days.

UUFR meets every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. at 366 James Wharf Road in White Stone. Fellowship and refreshments follow the service. For more information, visit the UUFR website at http://www.uufrappahannock.org.
