Church members help with Habitat construction
On Saturday, September 7, from 8 a.m. to approximately noon, Immanuel Baptist Church members, along with members of a few other churches, provided the manual labor force for the Middlesex Habitat for Humanity building project in Deltaville.
“We felt blessed with the opportunity,” said Pastor Calvin Rideau of Immanuel. “Most were novices at installing siding. However, the onsite experts were very patient and led us with such gentleness we actually felt comfortable and confident.
“Truly, this was a great experience. And, by all accounts, all participants, men and women, felt good for having had the opportunity to make this small contribution to their community,” said Pastor Rideau. “We thank God for Greg Chambers and the onsite experts for their kindness shown us during this wonderful experience.”
Pastor Rideau said his prayer to God “is for other churches in the community to get involved . . . it’s an experience they won’t regret nor soon forget.”
