Christ Church to celebrate Pentecost
On Sunday, June 8, Christ Church Parish (Episcopal) in Christchurch will celebrate the Feast of Pentecost—the coming of the Holy Spirit.
“Holy Scripture states that Jesus had promised that the power of God would come among his faithful people and they would be empowered to proclaim the ‘Good News’ of Christ to all people and in all places,” said Rev. Paul J. Andersen of Christ Church. “Just as the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles who had gathered in the Upper Room, so even today God’s power is among his faithful people—the church—as it faithfully witnesses to the world.”
The Feast of Pentecost is often considered to be the “birthday of the church.”
Christ Church Parish is at Route 33 (Gen. Puller Highway) at Route 638 in Christchurch, adjacent to Christchurch School. Sunday services are at 8 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
