Christ Church Parish women meet Saturday
The winter general meeting of the Episcopal Church Women of Christ Church will be held Saturday, March 9, at 11 a.m. in the parish house.
The speaker will be The Rev. Jennifer Kimball, interim rector of St. John’s Episcopal Church in West Point who is the mentor of the Education for Ministry (EfM) group that meets weekly at Abingdon Episcopal Church in White Marsh. EfM is a program of the School of Theology of the University of the South at Sewanee, Tenn. It is a 4-year program in which classes meet weekly to explore the ministry to which every Christian is called through their Baptism into the Body of Christ. Participants study the Old and New Testaments, church history and theological reflection of life situations in a seminar setting where knowledge, insight and experience are shared to enrich the study of faith.
A lunch of salad, bread, dessert and beverage will be served. “A bowl of salad greens will be provided, to which each participant is asked to bring a salad ingredient that begins with the first letter of either their first or last name,” said a program spokesperson. “The resulting salad, reflecting the unique gifts of each of us, will be healthy, nourishing and beautiful, just as our group is when all of our talents and energy are combined in fellowship and purpose.”
The church and parish house are located at 15 Christchurch Drive, adjacent to General Puller Highway at Christchurch. The public is welcome to attend.
