Christ Church Parish welcomes new organist

Deborah Davis

The Vestry of Christ Church Parish (Episcopal) in Christchurch is pleased to announce the appointment of Deborah Davis of Richmond as organist/choir director. Davis holds a BS in music education from Hampton University and undertook further music studies at Indiana University under the noted English pianist John Ogden.

Her credentials include a 24-year career as music instructor in King William County where she was named “Teacher of the Year” in 1999. Davis undertook organ studies both at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Richmond and at the University of Richmond. Previously she served as associate organist and choirmaster at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church (Richmond), and in 2001 was a guest organist for Evensong at Canterbury Cathedral, England. She also has served at Asbury United Methodist Church (Richmond), St. Philip’s Episcopal Church (Richmond), First English Lutheran (Monument Avenue Richmond), and St. Bridget’s Catholic Church (Richmond).
