Chorale concerts this weekend

Tickets are now on sale for the Chesapeake Chorale’s annual holiday concerts. Performances of “A Chesapeake Chorale Christmas” are scheduled for 8 p.m. Saturday, December 5, at Lancaster Middle School in Kilmarnock and 3 p.m. Sunday, December 6, at St. Clare Walker Middle School in Locust Hill.

Tickets are $10 and are available in the Middle Peninsula area at the Urbanna and Hartfield branches of EVB Bank, Family Chiropractic in Saluda, Hurd’s and Coffee Creations in Deltaville, and Papeterie in Urbanna.

In the Northern Neck area, tickets may be purchased at Rappahannock Westminster-Canterbury in Irvington, and Radio Shack, Twice Told Tales and Bank of Lancaster’s main branch in Kilmarnock.

The 100-voice Chesapeake Chorale is led by longtime artistic director Matt Rosendahl and accompanied by pianist Doug Harris, who has been with the chorale since its origination in 1996. This year’s holiday presentations will include such magical classics as “Silver Bells,” “White Christmas”  and “Carol of the Bells,” as well as more contemporary selections like “Good News”  and “Variations on Jingle Bells.”

All ticket proceeds from Chorale concerts are given to school music education in Gloucester, Middlesex, Lancaster, Mathews and Northumberland counties.
