‘Children of the Day,’ a Beth Moore study, set at Urbanna Baptist
Have you ever wanted to go to Greece? Now is your opportunity, at least vicariously!
The Tuesday Morning Women’s Bible Study group of Urbanna Baptist Church will begin the nine-week Beth Moore study, “Children of the Day,” of 1 & 2 Thessalonians on Tuesday, September 2, at 10 a.m. in the fellowship hall of the church.
“Join us as we discover the people, culture and faith of Thessaloniki in 51 A.D. and the issues confronting the Christian church there,” said a member of the group. “It was a dark time, for many Christians were being persecuted for their faith and they began to believe that the return of Jesus Christ was near.
“Sound familiar? How are we to walk the road of our lives in such an ominous world today? The women of that city played a vital role in the church and in their community; how we function in our homes and in our community as Christians can be a powerful force when we live as Paul says, as ‘children of the Light and children of the day.’ ”
