Britt Nicole to headline Christian music festival
The Northern Neck Foundation for Christ is organizing and promoting its third Christian music community concert. “Northern Neck RocktoberFest 2008” will be held from 2 to 10 p.m. October 4 on the mansion grounds at Belle Isle State Park in Lancaster County.
The music will start at 5 p.m. Performers will include Crosslink (Christian hip hop), Unsed (Christian indie rock), Skyla Burrell (traditional blues), and headliner Britt Nicole (Christian rock).
A number of area churches are making this a weekend retreat for their youth groups and church families by camping at Belle Isle State Park after the concert, said organizer Richard Pleasants.
Area Boy Scout Troops and churches will sell food to raise money for their ministries.
Northern Neck Hospice will have a sail for people to sign in memory of a loved one, who was cared for by Hospice.
There will be games and activities for the children and youth before the concert.
Security will be provided by the BIG DAWGS Men’s Group from White Stone Church of the Nazarene.
There also will be a morning non-denominational worship service on the mansion lawn Sunday from 7:30 to 9 a.m. A number of ministers from Maryland and Virginia will participate in the service.
This community Christian music festival is an event for the entire family, said Pleasants.
