‘Bluegrass on the beach’ Sunday in Deltaville
“EasyStreet,” a bluegrass band with local roots, will perform from 3 to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, at the Zoar Baptist Church property at Stingray Point.
The event is open to the public and there is no admission charge. A free will offering will be taken to raise funds for the Zoar youth and seniors fellowship ministries.
While the band is relatively new, the musicians have been playing bluegrass on the regional scene for years. Their collective experiences include stints with the “Wayne T. Holt Band,” Made From Scratch” and “Flatt Out,” not to mention five CD projects.
The members include: Joe Edwards of Topping, who sings and plays fiddle and guitar; Randy Crittenden of Hardyville, who plays dobro and sings; Krista Tabor of West Point, a 17-year old phenom who plays mandolin and fiddle and is a former cellist with the Williamsburg Youth Orchestra; Mike Nicely of Gloucester, who sings and plays guitar; banjo expert John Vondra of Sharps; and Randy Carlton of Mascot, who plays bass and sings.
