Annual King Celebration is Monday at Angel Visit

The 25th Annual Essex County Community Celebration of the Life and Work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. will be held on Monday, January 20, at 7 p.m. at Angel Visit Baptist Church in Dunnsville.

Rev. Dr. Leonidas B. Young II, founder and pastor of New Kingdom Christian Ministries in Richmond, will be the preacher for the event. Rev. Dr. Carla E. Lightfoot, pastor of Angel Visit, will serve as worship leader. Music will be provided by the Southside Rappahannock Baptist Association Choir under the direction of Marcellus Dungee with the assistance of Ann Latimore.

Held on the Martin Luther King Holiday, this annual event celebrates the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. “It is a time for all to remember the struggles of Dr. King and thousands of other Americans in the fight for freedom, equality, and dignity for all races and peoples,” said Dr. Lightfoot.

The public is cordially invited to share in this worship experience. For further information, contact Patricia Holmes at 443-9390.
