Alzheimer’s ‘Healing Power of Touch’ to be presented
“The Healing Power of Touch” for people with Alzheimer’s and dementia will be presented by Ellie Galloway, regional director of the Alzheimer’s Association, and Ginger Peer, CMT, Heart Felt Touch Massage Therapy.
This presentation is an educational session for caregivers who will provide information and techniques demonstrating how touch can alleviate pain, help calm anxiety and agitation, provide a means for non-verbal communication, and enhance emotional and spiritual well-being for their loved ones with dementia.
The presentations will be held Wednesday, January 9, at 10:30 a.m. at the Alzheimer’s Association office, 7335 Lewis Avenue, Gloucester; Thursday, January 24, at 1:30 p.m. at Port Town Village Apartments, 111 Port Town Lane, Urbanna; and on Tuesday, February 19, at 10 a.m. at Central United Methodist Church, 121 Church Street, Mathews.
