Alzheimer’s caregiver workshop due May 14
An Alzheimer’s Association workshop titled “What Happens When I Can No Longer Care For My Loved One at Home?” will be held Tuesday, May 14, from 9:30 a.m.-2 p.m. at Harmony Grove Baptist Church, 7722 General Puller Hwy., Topping.
One of the greatest fears for any family caregiver is the day when they are no longer able to care for their loved one 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on their own. Who will they call on, how can they move their loved one to a facility, how can they take a break and care for themselves and their loved one at the same time?
While you don’t have to make all those decisions today, understanding what your resources and options are both in your home and in your community can ease your anxiety and assist you in creating a plan to meet your family’s needs. This program will feature a panel of six professionals explaining from A-Z your care options, how to pay for it, and how to manage the grief and guilt while making informed decisions for your family.
Respite care will be available on-site for loved ones with dementia.
Reservations for respite must be made by May 8.
Lunch will be provided by Commonwealth Assisted Living.
This program is free and open to the public.
Reservations are required by calling 695-9382 or emailing .
