About 100 receive Thanksgiving dinners
The Community Thanksgiving Day Dinner that was held at the Distinction Restaurant Catering and Special Events in Hayes on November 28 was made a success by the individuals, churches, and businesses who donated their time, food, funds, and prayers to assure that Thanksgiving day would be made a little more special for people here on the Middle Peninsula and Northern Neck, said a spokesperson for event sponsor For Him Because of Him Worldwide Outreach Ministry.
Approximately 100 were served and delivered. Leftover food was donated to the Laurel Shelter.
“Everyone enjoyed themselves! And the volunteers were wonderful! It was one of the most relaxed atmospheres I have been a part of and the food was delicious,” said the spokesperson.
