Public invited to ‘soup and a mission’ at LUMC
On October 30, 2010 a group of 12 people left Lower United Methodist Church in Hartfield headed towards New Orleans, La., for a new mission project. The project was to help build a home for Ms. Evans on the Pearl River in Slidel outside of New Orleans.

Asst. Bishop Gulick to preach at Christ Church
imageOn Sunday, January 16, The Rt. Rev. Ted Gulick, Assistant Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Virginia, will be the guest celebrant and preacher at Christ Church Parish (Episcopal) at Routes 33 and 638, adjacent to Christchurch School.


Course on Islam offered
A course featuring Dr. Hussam S. Timani speaking on the subject of Islam will be sponsored by the Rappahannock Community College Educational Foundation’s Rappahannock Institute for Lifelong Learning (RILL) from 1-3 p.m. on February 4, 11, and 18 (Fridays) at the Gloucester County Main Library. All interested persons are invited to register.


Tickets on sale for oyster supper at Glebe Landing
The meal includes the choice of roasted oysters, fried oysters, or fried chicken. Sides include cole slaw, French fries, string beans and hush puppies, dessert, and drink.
