Community Thanksgiving Dinner offered on Nov. 24
Six local churches will offer a Community Thanksgiving Dinner at no charge to all who may not have other plans on Thanksgiving day, November 24. The traditional turkey and ham dinner will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Kingston Parish House, 370 Main Street, Mathews Court House.

“The Journey” at Lower United Methodist Church incorporated hands-on activities to bring Biblical times to life. The Journey continues each Sunday at 9:30 a.m. through December 18. Everyone is invited to attend.

“As ‘eucharist’ is a Greek word for ‘thanksgiving,’ it is most appropriate to join in worship on Thanksgiving Day to offer thanks to God for the blessings of food, family and nation,” said Christ Church Rector Paul Andersen.

On Sunday, November 27, at 7 p.m., Harmony Grove Baptist Church at the intersection of Routes 3 and 33 near Topping will decorate the church for the Advent and holiday season with a “Hanging of the Greens” service.
