Habitat for Humanity open house set for October 20
Habitat for Humanity of Middlesex County will hold an open house at The Cryer Center at 7 p.m. on Thursday, October 20, immediately following its monthly board meeting. The public is invited to attend and learn more about what Habitat has been up to over the past 12 months.

Saluda Baptist Church welcomes new minister
Beginning Sunday, October 16, Rev. Jerry Haywood has accepted the position as interim pastor for Saluda Baptist Church. Rev. Bill Sigler announced his retirement in September and he and his wife, Mary Dell, will continue their membership at the church.


Knights of Columbus to host Oktoberfest
The Knights of Columbus, Council 11210, which is comprised of members from the Church of Visitation and the Church of Francis de Sales, will hold an Oktoberfest on Saturday, October 15, at the Church of Francis de Sales in Mathews from 4-7 p.m.


Glebe Landing Baptist plans hunter luncheons
The Brotherhood of Glebe Landing Baptist Church will sponsor its Hunter’s Luncheons on Saturdays this fall from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The first luncheon will be on Saturday, October 8, with barbecue, sides and a drink. The lunches will continue each Saturday through January 7, 2012.
