Urbanna Methodist to offer contemporary service
The congregation felt there was a need in the community to serve those who are looking for something a little different than a traditional Sunday morning service. The idea was embraced and the first service was held on June 24 with a very large attendance. The band “Reverent Youth” performed and the congregation enjoyed this casual, interactive time of Christian fellowship.

Hands Across Middlesex had been trying to figure how to fix this home for two years, said Hands member Penny Lawson of Locust Hill. “The estimates were astronomical,” said Lawson. When the homeowner learned that Impact Virginia would fix her home, she told Lawson, “This is the biggest blessing in my life. I’d have to leave my home if I didn’t get help.”

07.15.2009Trinity Lutheran Church welcomes new pastor
Trinity Lutheran Church in Urbanna has welcomed Rev. Paul Napier as its new pastor. Rev. Napier has been in the ministry 29 years, having served churches in Muskegon, Mich., Seaford, Del., Hampton and Norfolk. He also has been a resident chaplain at Riverside Regional Medical Center in Newport News. He is a third-generation Lutheran (LCMS) pastor who was ordained by his father on June 1, 1980.
