Handbell workshop and free concert is Saturday
On Saturday, October 27, Rappahannock Westminster-Canterbury in Irvington will be ringing with the sounds of handbells as ringers from seven local churches gather for a workshop. Bell ringers from Bethel United Methodist, Kilmarnock United Methodist, Urbanna United Methodist, Harmony Grove Baptist, Kilmarnock Baptist, St. Andrews Presbyterian, and Bethany Baptist will perform under the direction of Larry Henning.

Clarksbury United Methodist Church will pick up the grocery bags that were distributed to homes in the Hardyville and Deltaville communities this Saturday, October 27. Members of the church will return to the same homes before noon to pick up the grocery bags.
10.24.2012Lower Church to focus on ‘The Underground Church’
The Lower United Methodist Church Thursday Supper Study Series will begin a new study on November 1, using as the basis for discussion, “The Underground Church, Reclaiming the Subversive Way of Jesus.” The author, Robin Meyers, proposes a radical idea: we need to recapture the spirit of the early church with its emphasis on what Christians do, rather than on what they believe.
10.24.2012Philippi plans fundraiser for injured military personnel
The public is invited to support a fundraiser for military men and women who have either been wounded in combat operations or injured as a result of line-of-duty activities in support of combat operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. An auction, part silent and part live, will be held at Philippi Christian Church, Deltaville, on November 10, at 5 p.m.
