Rev. Mann to preach final sermon at Grafton Sunday
The retirement of Rev. Chauncey Mann, 79, of Grafton Baptist Church in Hartfield marks an end of an era—not only for the congregation of Grafton but for the people of Middlesex County. Rev. Mann will preach his last sermon at 11 a.m. this Sunday, March 25, at Grafton. It is titled “Only Jesus” and Holy Communion will be served. All are invited to attend.

The “Harmony Ringers” will perform its Easter selections on Sunday, March 25, at Harmony Grove Baptist Church, located at the intersection of Routes 3 and 33 in Topping. Selections will include “Gethsemane’s Prayer,” “In the Cross of Christ I Glory” and “Were You There” at the 11 a.m. worship service. The Harmony Ringers are a three octave bell choir.

The Lenten lunch series continues at Clarksbury United Methodist Church in Hardyville on Wednesday, March 28. Lunch is served at noon and by members of the church for a cost of $6. All proceeds benefit the St. Andrews Society and Hands Across Middlesex.

On Sunday, March 25, at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the Rappahannock (UUFR), Ann Kelsey will speak on “Compassion, a Commentary.” With credit to Karen Armstrong, her “Charter for Compassion” and “Twelve Steps to a Compassionate Life,” this service will involve more than the usual congregation dialog.
