Calvary Baptist to celebrate homecoming; host revival
The worship service will begin at 11 a.m. with Pastor Pleasants preaching and the Mass Choir singing. The traditional homecoming dinner and cookout will follow the service. The entire community is invited to come share in the worship, fellowship and fun. Please feel free to dress in comfort.

Hands Across Middlesex plans Clothing Barn sale
The Hands Across Middlesex Clothing Barn will have an end-of-season sale, open to the public and to clients, on Saturday, August 27, from 8 a.m.-noon at The Cryer Center. All summer clothing for men, women and children of all ages will be on sale. Tops and shirts will sell for $1; slacks and pants for $2; and dresses, suits and two-piece outfits for $3.


Bluegrass gospel concert is August 28 in Irvington
On Sunday, August 28, Irvington United Methodist Church will host the “Solid Rock” bluegrass group at 1:30 p.m. in the sanctuary. This group is based in Virginia and travels extensively to witness with word and song. Butch Bunn plays the guitar, Joe Drumright plays the mandolin, Rob Green plays the banjo and Sam Hyde plays the upright bass.


Glebe Landing Baptist welcomes new pastor
Glebe Landing Baptist Church is pleased to announce its new pastor. As of August 1, Pastor Gene Cumbia took over the duties in the church. Pastor Gene was born in Roanoke Rapids, N.C. His home church is Sanford Memorial Baptist Church in Brodnax, Virginia.
