Silent auction/food event will help the homeless
The 2nd annual Silent Auction and Delicious Food Benefit for Helping The Homeless will be held at the Gloucester Moose Lodge on Saturday, October 14, from 11 a.m.-7 p.m. The silent auction will be from 1-4 p.m. and the food benefit 11 a.m.-7 p.m. Dine in or take out.

300-year anniversary Brunswick Stew Sale due Oct. 21 at Lower
The Lower United Methodist Men, in conjunction with the 300-year anniversary of its church building, will hold its annual Brunswick Stew Sale on Saturday, October 21. The stew is slow cooked for 6 hours in cast iron cauldrons using the men’s “secret” recipe.


Spring Hill events listed
The title of the sermon given by Dr. Chuck McDaniel at the 11 a.m. worship hour on Sunday, October 8, at Spring Hill Baptist Church in Mathews will be “Dreamers!” (Jude 1:8). Special music will be by the Spring Hill Choir and Spring Hill’s own Earl Robins.  


Hospital to present the ‘Power of Pink’ on Oct. 10
Bon Secours Rappahannock General Hospital (BSRGH) invites the community to celebrate the “Power of Pink” with a breast cancer awareness event to be held Tuesday, October 10, from 5-7 p.m. at the Lancaster Community Library (upstairs).
