Lenten lunch series continues
The Lenten lunch series continues at Clarksbury United Methodist Church in Hardyville on Wednesday, March 28. Lunch is served at noon and by members of the church for a cost of $6. All proceeds benefit the St. Andrews Society and Hands Across Middlesex.

Unitarians to discuss ‘compassion’
On Sunday, March 25, at the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the Rappahannock (UUFR), Ann Kelsey will speak on “Compassion, a Commentary.” With credit to Karen Armstrong, her “Charter for Compassion” and “Twelve Steps to a Compassionate Life,” this service will involve more than the usual congregation dialog.


Immanuel to celebrate pastor’s 20th anniversary
On Sunday, March 25, Immanuel Baptist Church of Saluda will celebrate Rev. Calvin and First Lady Deaconess WahWah Rideau’s 20h anniversary as church pastor. The 11 a.m. worship service speaker will be Rev. Rideau’s brother, Rev. Frank Rideau Jr., of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.


Philippi steeple, bell tower to be repaired
imageFor the first time since 1914, the steeple and bell tower of Philippi Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) in Deltaville were removed this week to repair damage caused by the April 16, 2011 tornado and aging, said interim church minister Pastor Bill Palmer.
