Course on Islam offered
A course featuring Dr. Hussam S. Timani speaking on the subject of Islam will be sponsored by the Rappahannock Community College Educational Foundation’s Rappahannock Institute for Lifelong Learning (RILL) from 1-3 p.m. on February 4, 11, and 18 (Fridays) at the Gloucester County Main Library. All interested persons are invited to register.

Tickets on sale for oyster supper at Glebe Landing
The meal includes the choice of roasted oysters, fried oysters, or fried chicken. Sides include cole slaw, French fries, string beans and hush puppies, dessert, and drink.


Lower Church plans ‘Disciple’ Bible study
Lower United Methodist Church will offer “Disciple: Becoming Disciples Through Bible Study” in 2011. Disciple is a time-tested, comprehensive study of holy scripture, with particular emphasis on our individual and collective call to respond and serve.


WISDOM Conference planned
The Women In Service Delivering Outstanding Ministry (WISDOM) Conference 2011 will be held at Trinity Family Life Center February 25-26. Local celebrities in the music industry as well as national artists from around the country will meet to honor a living legend in gospel music—Evangelist Dorothy Norwood.
