Southside RBA Board meeting set for Saturday
The next meeting for the Southside Rappahannock Baptist Association (SRBA) Board will be on Saturday, October 13, at 10 a.m. at New Mount Zion Baptist Church in Walkerton where Rev. Robert D. Brown is pastor. All SRBA board members and officers of its Allied Bodies are asked to attend.

Directing local youth toward Christian values for 44 years
imageFrances Johnston has been the youth director of Lower United Methodist Church in Hartfield for 44 years. This Sunday, October 7, Lower Church and the county will celebrate Johnston’s long and dedicated service to the local youth and to the community.


Immanuel Baptist prepares to launch new tutoring program
Immanuel Baptist Church has completed a two-year pilot tutoring program and is preparing to launch an upgraded tutoring program for 2013-14. The pilot project was held from September 2010 through June 2012 with approximately 30 children and 20 tutors. The overall results were very promising.


Christ Church plans ‘Blessing of Animals’ service
On Sunday, October 7, at the 10:30 a.m. worship service, Christ Church Parish (Episcopal) will celebrate the Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi with a special “Service of Blessing of Animals.” “Saint Francis came to see the full beauty of God’s creation in his close relationship with God’s creatures,” said The Rev. Paul Andersen.
